Football: Called up by Germany, Paris Brunner is in talks with DR Congo!

Sought after by the Democratic Republic of Congo, Paris Brunner faces a significant international decision. The young AS Monaco striker, currently with the German U21 team, recently spoke with Congolese national team coach Sébastien Desabre.

Paris Brunner's international situation is attracting increasing attention. After a remarkable start to the season with AS Monaco, where he scored three goals in four Ligue 1 matches, the 20-year-old striker is now at the center of interest for the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The Leopards' coach, Sébastien Desabre, confirmed that contact had been made with the player's entourage. The French coach revealed that he had met with Brunner's parents to discuss his international future.

"We went to see the parents to talk. But we're not going to put pressure on him," Desabre explained at a press conference.

A choice between two countries

Born in Germany and also eligible to represent the Democratic Republic of Congo, Paris Brunner has spent his entire international career representing Germany at youth level. He notably played for the various German youth national teams.

However, the DRC wants to take its time and avoid pushing the player into making a hasty decision.

Sébastien Desabre acknowledges that Brunner maintains ties with both countries.

"He is attached to Congo, just as he is to Germany. He will take the time to think about it, then we will see in November what happens," said the Congolese coach.

Called up to the German U21 team

For this international break, Brunner has once again been called up to the German U21 team. This call-up confirms that he remains in the plans of the German youth national teams.

His excellent start to the season with Monaco did not, however, allow him to be included in the two lists of the national A team recently unveiled by Jürgen Klopp, who selected a total of 44 players.

The German coach had nevertheless mentioned the case of the young Monegasque and indicated that his profile had been studied, while suggesting that he should continue with the Espoirs.

For now, Paris Brunner remains committed to the German youth national teams, while the Democratic Republic of Congo continues its negotiations behind the scenes. The player is expected to take some time to consider his options before deciding which country he will represent internationally.
