FSF : Djamil Faye écarté de la Tanière, ce que révèle la procédure devant le TAS
While the Court of Arbitration for Sport's (CAS) decision reopened the electoral case of the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF), a detailed reading of the 35-page ruling reveals previously unknown and particularly explosive aspects of the case. Far from being limited to purely procedural considerations, the document consulted by L'Observateur sheds light on financial sanctions and intense behind-the-scenes tensions.
A symbolic but significant financial compensation for Mady Touré
The first key point to note: the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has ordered the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) to pay Mady Touré 3,000 Swiss francs (approximately 2.1 million CFA francs). This compensation is intended to "cover part of the legal fees" incurred by the head of Génération Foot in defending his appeal. While the amount remains modest given the stakes, this financial penalty represents a significant step by the international body, which thus recognizes the legitimacy of the actions taken by the dissenting candidate.
Djamil Faye banned from the locker room: the behind-the-scenes war
The report also reveals significant tensions surrounding the testimony of Djamil Faye, presented in the proceedings as "Mady Touré's representative." In a supplementary submission to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) last July, the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) and Abdoulaye Fall challenged the credibility of his statements, citing new evidence intended to "call into question the veracity" of his testimony.
In its argument relayed by the daily newspaper of the Futurs Médias Group, the FSF management indicates that it has taken a radical disciplinary measure: Djamil Faye is now formally "banned from accessing the national teams" and the changing rooms, a decision presented by the federal body as the direct consequence of his role and actions in this electoral dispute.
Accusations of attempted bribery
Even more serious, the same source notes, is that the documents submitted to the file by the Federation and its president contain extremely grave accusations. The FSF refers to what it describes as "attempts at bribery" directly targeting the bailiff of the Electoral Commission.
