Les Lions à Maputo : précision sur Sénégal-Mozambique
Senegal will face Mozambique at home on September 25, for the first day of the 2027 AFCON qualifiers. The match was originally scheduled to take place in Dakar, but it will ultimately be played in Maputo, the Mozambican capital, due to the unavailability of the Léopold-Senghor stadium.
Some were quick to talk about relocation, but for the president of the Senegalese Football Federation, this is not the case. "We have reversed the days," clarified Abdoulaye Fall this Sunday in Diourbel, on the sidelines of the closing of the national tour to sponsor the regional league finals.
The Lions will therefore host the Mambas next March, for the 5th day of the qualifications, whereas initially they were supposed to visit them for this window of the competition.
Senegal is in Group J alongside Sudan, Ethiopia and Mozambique.
