Mexique : Le capitaine de la sélection visé par une grave accusation
The captain of Mexico's national football team, Edson Alvarez, is at the center of a heated controversy in his country. The West Ham midfielder is accused by filmmaker Juan José López Ordóñez of having participated in planning his kidnapping in November 2024.
According to the director, this affair is linked to a financial dispute over a documentary. Accusations that the 28-year-old player categorically denies.
In a statement published on Instagram, Edson Alvarez firmly denied any involvement in this case and denounced accusations that he considers unfounded.
"I categorically reject any accusation or attempt to associate my name with events that are completely foreign to me," said the captain of the Mexican national team, who invites anyone with information to pass it on to the competent authorities.
"If anyone believes they have evidence of any wrongdoing on my part, there are authorities and courts to present it. I have nothing to do with the reported events," he added.
The West Ham player also indicated that he had instructed his lawyers to take the necessary legal action against those behind these accusations. The case could now take a legal turn.
