Five drivers were arrested this Monday, March 30, 2026, around 1 p.m., by the Grand-Yoff district police station at the "Diawbé" garage in Khar Yalla, for destruction of property, endangering the lives of others, illegal assembly and obstruction of the freedom to work, according to Seneweb sources.

The incident occurred during a transport workers' strike. MSD, a taxi driver, left Liberté 6 Extension with a sick passenger he needed to take urgently to the Idrissa Pouye Hospital in Grand-Yoff. Upon arriving near the "Diawbé" garage, he was intercepted by a group of young people who accused him of working despite the strike order. When he tried to reason with them, the situation escalated: the individuals poured tar all over his vehicle.

A police patrol present in the area immediately intervened and arrested five suspects: MT, 29 years old, driver, residing in Castor; MC, 18 years old, driver, residing in Khar Yalla; OC, 22 years old, driver, residing in Khar Yalla; FC, 18 years old, driver, residing in Khar Yalla; and LC, 37 years old, driver, residing in Khar Yalla.

The suspects, who have been taken into custody, will answer for their actions before Prosecutor Ibrahima Ndoye. The investigation is ongoing.

Il faut bien les eduquer. Ils sont très impolis. Gora khouma dénonçait un syndicat qui dit même si on satisfait tous les points de revendications, ils font en grève. Que le gouvernement fasse des enquêtes sur ces politiciens grévistes qui utilisent le syndicat pour chercher à déstabiliser le régime

Les chauffeurs doivent payer les trois jours de taxe non payée. Ce sera très facile. Quand les autres vont en grève, ils sont ponctionnés et pourquoi pas eux
