UN-CHK: Students plead for better connectivity and a reduction in administrative delays

UN-CHK : les étudiants plaident pour une meilleure connectivité et la résorption des lenteurs administratives

During the integration week organized to welcome the new students (class of 2025) of the Cheikh Hamidou Kane Digital University (UN-CHK), the leaders of the association highlighted the challenges facing the institution, while calling on the State to strengthen its support.

Ousseynou Sokhna, president of the UN-CHK student association, outlined the main difficulties faced by students. He mentioned administrative delays and setbacks in the academic year. He also emphasized connectivity problems that penalize many students, particularly those living in areas where internet access remains inadequate.

According to him, these difficulties prevent many learners from properly following online courses.

Faced with this situation, Ousseynou Sokhna calls on the State to improve the quality of the Internet connection across the entire territory in order to guarantee all students, regardless of their place of residence, equitable access to courses offered by the Cheikh Hamidou Kane Digital University.

Present at this activity, Amadou Sidibé, president of the African Patriotic Convergence for Ethics, Democracy and Development (CAPE2D), praised the initiative of the association, which devoted an entire week to educational and civic activities aimed at facilitating the integration of new students.

Among the highlights of this week was a major public speaking competition, during which students debated topics such as citizenship, responsibility, living together, and the use of social media.

According to Amadou Sidibé, these exchanges demonstrate the maturity and sense of responsibility of UN-CHK students. He encouraged the new students to remain focused on their studies, to be patient in the face of the challenges of higher education, and to persevere in achieving their goals.

He also urged the authorities to accelerate reforms and strengthen their support for students in order to improve their learning conditions.
