ECOMIG en Gambie : Le ministre Ismaila Ceesay rejette les allégations de l’opposant Talib Bensouda
At a political rally last weekend, Gambian opposition leader Talib Bensouda accused President Barrow of entrusting the country's security and his personal security to ECOMIG, the ECOWAS military mission deployed in Banjul since January 2017. Yesterday, Thursday, Gambian Information Minister Dr. Ismaila Ceesay refuted these "inaccurate and misleading" statements.
"Ecomig does not determine national security policy."
For him, it is established that "Gambia's national security institutions remain directed, commanded and subject to Gambian authority and laws".
The Gambian armed forces, intelligence services, police, immigration department, and other key institutions are all headed by Gambians and operate in strict compliance with the national legal and institutional framework, the authority noted. ECOMIG does not control national security, “does not replace Gambian institutions, and does not determine The Gambia’s national security policy.”
It intervenes rather as "a partner of The Gambia, in matters of security and does not infringe upon its sovereignty," clarified Minister Ceesay.

Chers Gambiens vous avez intérêt à regarder comment tout celà a finit chez nous au Sénégal pour savoir où mettre les pieds.
Excusez moi d'avoir braconné dans votre jardin, mais c'est la Sénégambie.
