France : Le président béninois Wadagni reçu par Emmanuel Macron
The President of the Republic of Benin, Romuald Wadagni, has been on an official visit to France since yesterday, Sunday, October 4, 2026. He arrived this Monday at the Elysée Palace, where his French counterpart was waiting for him.
The two men exchanged a firm handshake on the steps of the French Presidency before entering the building.
A "meeting that will give new impetus to the dialogue between Paris and Cotonou"
In a post published on his X account, Emmanuel Macron indicated that he was "delighted to welcome" his Beninese counterpart to Paris. "Benin and France share a relationship of friendship, trust, and ambition, a relationship of equals. Together we want to create more opportunities for our young people," he revealed.
Let us recall that Mr. Wadagni was already at the Elysée yesterday Sunday where he took part in the dinner offered by the Africa-France Impact Coalition (AFIC) alongside Emmanuel Macron.
This is the very first official visit of the Beninese president to France since his election last May.
