Frappe de drone sur Agadez : Le Tchad réagit aux accusations du Niger
Chad denies having conducted a drone strike on Emi Loulou (a hill in the Agadez region) on Saturday, October 24. It firmly rejected these accusations from Niamey in a statement read on national television on Tuesday, October 27, by its Minister of Communication, Gassim Chérif Mahamat.
Nigerien authorities are urged to make public the evidence they claim to possess.
N'Djamena asserts that it has "in no way ordered, conducted or supported any air military operation from its soil against Niger".
He also denies having provided any assistance to a foreign power in order to carry out hostile action against the Sahelian country and invites the Nigerien authorities to make public the evidence they claim to possess so that its reliability and scope can be examined.
Chad supports the opening of an independent international investigation
N'Djamena also indicated that it was in favor of opening an independent international investigation to shed light on this drone attack.
However, he demands an end to Niger's "unfounded accusations" against him. It should be noted that last August, a captain in the Nigerien army had already implicated Chad in the violent mutiny that shook the country.
