Guinée : Doumbouya explique pourquoi il a autorisé l’évacuation sanitaire de Kassory Fofana et de Damaro Camara
In Guinea, former Prime Minister Kassory Fofana and former President of the National Assembly Amadou Damaro Camara, imprisoned for illicit enrichment, money laundering and embezzlement of public funds, benefited from a medical evacuation due to the deterioration of their health; President Mamadi Doumbouya authorized their medical transfer abroad.
"A strong state is not a heartless state."
In a message posted on his Facebook page, the leader indicated that he could not remain indifferent to the suffering of these two compatriots.
“The principle that underpins the rebuilding of our country remains intact: no one is above the law, regardless of their position. But a strong state is not a heartless state. The state of health of these two men has been brought to my attention and documented. Faced with the suffering of a human being, I felt that the Republic could not turn a blind eye,” explained the Guinean president.
This is "neither an amnesty, nor a pardon, nor a settlement"
He clarifies that their medical evacuation is "neither an amnesty, nor a pardon, nor a settlement (but) an act of humanity."
"I want a Guinea that judges without hatred and that sanctions without relentlessness. The rigor that we demand in the management of public funds does not stem from resentment: it stems from high standards," the Guinean president assured.
