He prioritized experience. Guinean President Mamadi Doumbouya appointed former Minister of Transport Mohamed Keita as the Republic of Guinea's ambassador to the Russian Federation. Keita previously held this position between 2011 and 2021 and is therefore well-versed in the workings of Guinean diplomacy in Moscow.
Appointed minister a few months before Doumbouya's coup
Trained as an engineer, the new head of the Guinean diplomatic mission in Russia had been appointed Minister of Transport in January 2021 by Alpha Condé, just a few months before the coup d'état of September 5, 2021.
