RDC : L’Union africaine appelle au respect du cessez-le-feu et à l’ordre constitutionnel
The Chairperson of the African Union (AU) Commission, Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, welcomes the efforts of Congolese President Félix Tshisekedi in favour of an inclusive national political dialogue, in respect of the institutions of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
The AU reaffirms its commitment to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the DRC, while insisting on respect for the ceasefire, the protection of civilians and the implementation of commitments from the Doha and Washington processes.
The continental organization also renews its support for the mediation led by Togolese President Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé in order to promote lasting peace in the DRC and the Great Lakes region.
