The discovery has sparked shock and outrage in Guinea. Six unidentified bodies were found in a mass grave located in a forested area of the Sabakhouré sector, within the sub-prefecture of Allassoyah. According to the Guinean Press Agency (AGP), the six victims, all male, had their eyes blindfolded and their hands tied.
“I was at the office around 9 a.m. when my sector chief called me to inform me that citizens had discovered unusual signs at their workplace. We informed the sub-prefect who, in turn, alerted the urban police station. The prosecutor was also informed. That is how six bodies were discovered in a pit,” said Ibrahima Soriba Touré, mayor of the rural commune of Allassoyah.
Among the victims, all male, was an elderly man who appeared to be around sixty years old. The public prosecutor at the Forécariah Court of First Instance, Mamadou Lamine Diallo, went to the scene, accompanied by the defense and security forces. After the usual procedures, the six bodies were transported to the Forécariah Prefectural Hospital for the purposes of the investigation and identification, according to the same source.
