Tivaouane : Des bijoux estimés à 100 millions FCFA emportés lors d'un braquage
A jewelry store located in Tivaouane was burglarized on the night of Sunday 20 to Monday 21 September 2026. Armed and masked, the robbers, who are believed to be five in number, made off with gold and silver jewelry worth an estimated 100 million FCFA.
According to a source, around 2:00 a.m., five individuals broke into the store and targeted the main safe. The jewelry store owner said the burglars forced open the safe, which contained significant quantities of gold and silver jewelry.
The assailants, who apparently did not limit themselves to the first safe, also made off with a second safe containing various administrative documents. Alerted to the incident, the owner filed a complaint with the Tivaouane police station. As part of the investigation, a witness has already been interviewed. An inquiry has been opened.
