Thiès - DER/FJ Funding: 11 new taxis to strengthen transport at AIBD

In Thiès, on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, Dr. Abdoulaye Niane continued his territorial tour (official visit) to raise awareness, promote and enroll people in the programs of the General Delegation for Rapid Entrepreneurship of Women and Youth (DER/FJ).

With emphasis placed on Nano-credit and the Be-Yes program, the Thiès stage was marked in particular by the financing, within the framework of PAVIE, of 11 new taxis intended for operation, namely the improvement (strengthening) of the transport service to Blaise Diagne International Airport (AIBD - SA).

These 11 new vehicles, handed over a few weeks before the start of the Youth Olympic Games, bring to 47 the number of taxis financed for drivers operating on the AIBD platform, for a total amount of 337.65 million FCFA.

The ceremony took place in the presence of the Director General of AIBD, Mr. Cheikh Bamba Dieye, as well as representatives of CETUD - Executive Council for Sustainable Urban Transport, FDTT Land Transport Development Fund and SENIRAN AUTO SA, demonstrating the mobilization of stakeholders in the transport ecosystem around this initiative.

In the same vein, the Director General of DER/FJ plans to deploy 20 taxis at Ziguinchor Airport soon, with funding of 159 million FCFA. Dr. Abdoulaye Niane thus reaffirms his commitment to strengthening support for transport operators and facilitating their access to resources for developing their businesses.

In Thiès, Dr. Niane also held a working session with members of the departmental umbrella organization for Nano-credit. Enrollment of Economic Interest Groups (EIGs) is also continuing for the Be-Yes program.
