Diourbel, March 15th. D. Mar, 37 years old, was returning home after a day spent at a wedding. No sooner had she arrived than the married woman received a call from a number not in her contacts. On the other end of the line, a man openly made advances. The woman cut him off and hung up.
Less than fifteen minutes later, the mysterious caller returned with a different number. This time, D. Mar lost her temper and violently dismissed the caller, informing him of her marital status.
But it took more than that to deter the harasser. He then decided to send videos in which he exposed himself, boasting about his size. D. Mar confided in her husband, who advised her to file a complaint. She did so the same day.
To catch the mysterious man, the police ask the victim to arrange a meeting with his intrusive interlocutor. The football field in the Champs de Courses district is chosen. Upon his arrival, the suspect runs into the police, who handcuff him.
According to L'Observateur, which reported this story, the accused is named N. Aw, and he is a disc jockey (DJ). At the central police station in Diourbel, he apologized, swearing that he had sent the videos of himself to the wrong recipient, the newspaper reports.
Tried this Wednesday before the Diourbel criminal court, the DJ maintained the same version of events. This did not convince the judge, who found him guilty of illegally collecting and disseminating personal data and assault, and sentenced him to two years in prison, one year of which is suspended, reports L'Observateur.
