Mbour : il fait vivre l’enfer à son père, coupable d’avoir…
The Mbour Magistrates' Court sentenced S. Mb. Wade, a 26-year-old tailor, to three months' suspended imprisonment for making death threats and insulting his father. This is the fourth legal action brought by the father against his son, stemming from a family conflict following the parents' divorce in 2024 and the mother's subsequent repudiation, a separation the young man reportedly never accepted.
According to L'Observateur, the cohabitation between the two men had become "a battleground" at their family home in the Diameguène neighborhood. In February 2026, another altercation erupted when the father accused his son of wasting water and electricity before demanding he leave the house permanently. The young man refused, insulted him, and threatened to kill him. Believing that "his son's threats are never empty" and convinced that "his life is in danger," the father decided to file a complaint.
At the hearing, the two sides presented irreconcilable accounts. The defendant accused his father of mistreating his mother before disowning her and of provoking him because he continued to visit her. The father rejected these accusations, describing his son as a "dangerous man, capable of taking his own life at any moment" and claiming he was being manipulated by his ex-wife. "All I want is for him to leave my house for good," he declared, as reported by the newspaper.
At the end of the debates, adds the daily newspaper of the Futurs Médias Group, the court found S. Mb. Wade guilty of the charges against him and sentenced him to three months in prison with a suspended sentence.
