Médina : 225 g de cocaïne saisis, le dealer présumé a tenté de corrompre la police
The Medina district police station has referred an individual to the prosecutor's office on charges of cocaine trafficking and attempted bribery. Described as a student residing in Yoff, the suspect was arrested following an investigation into an alleged drug trafficking network operating between Medina and Yoff, specifically in Diamalaye.
It all started with an anonymous tip about a large cocaine trafficking network in the area. Acting on this information, officers from the anti-drug trafficking unit launched an investigation to identify those involved.
After identifying the suspect, police set up surveillance that allowed them to follow him to his home. A search of his bedroom uncovered fifteen packets of cocaine hidden under his clothes in a suitcase. The amount of drugs seized is estimated at 225 grams, according to the national police.
The case took a new turn when the suspect was taken to the Medina district police station. According to information released by the national police, the individual allegedly attempted to bribe the officers by offering them money in exchange for his release. This alleged bribery attempt is in addition to the cocaine trafficking charges against him.
At the end of the procedure, the accused was brought before the public prosecutor on October 26, 2026.
