It all started with a complaint filed by Serigne MM Sy regarding the theft of his Beverly brand scooter. The investigation quickly led back to the gang leader, MS, a 21-year-old carpenter residing in Khar Yalla. Arrested and confronted with the facts, he confessed and gave up the names of his accomplices.
They were immediately picked up. They were ET, 24 years old, a delivery driver, residing in Gueule Tapée, and PF, 18 years old, a plumber, residing in Les Castors.
MS's profile particularly caught the attention of investigators. According to Seneweb sources, the gang leader has been brought before the court five times between 2023 and 2026. He was notably brought before the prosecutor's office during the wrestling match between Boy Niang and Tapha Tine for armed robbery, and then again by the Grand Yoff police station for similar offenses.
He was also brought before a judge for a fight that resulted in stolen phones, as well as for stealing one million CFA francs from a convenience store. Furthermore, he is actively being sought by the Grand Yoff police station for other serious crimes.
