Canada: A man dies at Montreal airport during ground operations before a flight to Paris

In a statement released this Tuesday, the service company that manages operations at Montreal airport announced that a member of its team died during ground operations before a French Bee flight to Paris-Orly.

A tragedy. A person working for an airport services company died at Montreal airport in an accident during ground operations, before the departure on Monday of a plane to Paris of the French airline French Bee, the latter indicated on Tuesday, August 25.

This "accident" occurred "during ground operations prior to the departure of flight BF5761 to Paris-Orly. French Bee is deeply saddened by this tragic accident which resulted in the death of a member of the airport teams, an employee of the company Samsic," the company detailed in a statement.

"At this stage, the precise circumstances of the accident that occurred during the pushback of the aircraft remain to be established," she added.

"The airport community is in mourning."

On the social network X, the company managing the Montreal airport ADM indicated that it had "learned of the death of a member of the airport community (...) which occurred in the course of his duties", without giving any details on the circumstances of the accident.

"Our thoughts are with his family, loved ones and colleagues, to whom we offer our most sincere condolences. In these difficult times, we are wholeheartedly with all those affected by this tragedy," the company added.

Samsic is a service company that manages, among other things, at Montreal airport "runway operations, baggage handling, passenger assistance", as detailed on its website.
