Emirats: annulation des concerts de Shakira et de Christina Aguilera sur fond de conflit avec l'Iran
The United Arab Emirates remains the main target of Tehran's reprisals since the start, at the end of February, of the American-Israeli offensive against Iran.
The Gulf country claims to have been targeted by more than three thousand missiles and drones, which hit some infrastructure, although most were intercepted.
Although the pace of attacks has decreased considerably in recent months, the Ministry of Defense announced on Tuesday that Iran had fired two ballistic missiles targeting "maritime navigation", which ultimately fell into the sea.
The organizers of the Offlimits festival, where Shakira was scheduled to perform on November 21, announced its cancellation Tuesday via a press release, promising ticket refunds.
"We hope to reorganize Offlimits in 2027," they wrote, without specifying the reason for the cancellation of the 2026 edition.
Ticketmaster, the platform that sold tickets for Christina Aguilera's concert on September 25, also announced its cancellation, without setting a new date, Emirati media reported.
These two events had already been postponed due to the impact of the war on the security situation and air traffic.
The Offlimits festival was originally scheduled to take place in Abu Dhabi on April 4, while Christina Aguilera's concert was scheduled for April 24.
Since the beginning of the conflict, Tehran's reprisals in the Gulf have shaken the image of stability that the petro-monarchies have been striving to project for years.
The authorities are therefore struggling to revive cultural and tourist activities, the pillars of their economy.
