A key figure at France Télévisions for nearly ten years, journalist Émilie Tran Nguyen has been definitively removed from the public broadcaster's airwaves. Until mid-June, the 41-year-old journalist held several prominent roles on the public service: a familiar face on the show C à vous and presenter of the magazine En société on France 5, her career had successfully taken her from the 12/13 news program on France 3 to the studios of France Info and France 2.

However, her last appearance on air was abruptly on June 15th. On June 21st, journalist Thomas Snégaroff stepped in at the last minute to host "En société," with management justifying her absence by explaining that the presenter was simply "unwell." Following this, the broadcasting group hinted that the program would be cancelled in the fall and that the journalist's contract would not be renewed, citing simple budgetary decisions and cost-cutting measures across its magazine programs.

Caught red-handed: A suspect taken into custody for buying cocaine

The real reason for this abrupt departure was finally revealed by media journalist Clément Garin and confirmed by several sources. Émilie Tran Nguyen was in fact arrested in the heart of Paris by an undercover police officer in mid-June. Caught red-handed while making a drug purchase, the presenter was immediately taken into custody.

Faced with the seriousness of the situation and this blatant act of cocaine possession in the capital, her employers reacted swiftly. As soon as they were informed of their colleague's legal situation, France Télévisions management took drastic measures, permanently removing her from the company and proceeding with her immediate and indefinite dismissal. A brutal end to a collaboration that had lasted nearly a decade.
