Incendies : Gims, Zazie, Obispo… des célébrités se réunissent pour un concert caritatif en soutien aux sinistrés
Around fifteen volunteer artists, including Gims, Zazie and Pascal Obispo, are gathering Thursday evening in Bordeaux for a charity concert to benefit the victims of the summer fires.
The man in the dark glasses is coming to the aid of the victims. Around fifteen volunteer artists, including Gims, Zazie, Superbus and Pascal Obispo, will participate in a charity concert in Bordeaux (Gironde) on Thursday evening, with the aim of raising funds for the victims of the summer fires.
Telethon style
The show will take place at the Arkéa Arena in the city, just a few dozen kilometers from the megafire that ravaged more than 40,000 hectares of forest at the end of July. It is a sold-out event, with more than 10,000 tickets sold in less than 24 hours, and will be broadcast live on M6 and RTL.
Similar to the Téléthon or Les Enfoirés, the concert will be interspersed with fundraising appeals by the Fondation de France and the firefighters. All funds raised through ticket sales and merchandise will also be donated to disaster relief efforts.
The program brings together iconic French singers such as Pascal Obispo, Renaud, Natasha St-Pier, Zazie, Julien Clerc, Bénabar, Cali, -M-, Gaëtan Roussel, Axel Bauer and the group Superbus, but also more recent artists such as Gims, Gauvain Sers, Ycare, Noé Preszow or Helena, not forgetting figures from the 1980s such as Jeanne Mas or David and Jonathan.
According to organizers, spectators will be able to choose whether or not to allocate their donation to a particular department affected by the fires this summer.
Four firefighters died battling the flames
Several fires have ravaged the mountains this summer in France from the Gironde to the Var, passing through the Landes, the Fontainebleau forest or the Pas-de-Calais coastline, breaking the record for burned areas in 20 years of satellite measurements, according to the European fire monitoring system (Effis), which records nearly 100,000 ha burned in France.
In Gironde, the megafire that broke out on July 22nd burned through 42,000 hectares before being contained on August 1st and came within about fifteen kilometers of the Bordeaux metropolitan area. It burned 240 houses, including 183 in the village of Le Porge.
Four firefighters died this summer in France: two professionals in Mérignac, near Bordeaux, trapped in their tanker truck by a pine fire, a volunteer in Savoie, also fighting a fire, and another volunteer after the tanker truck he was driving went off the road in Bouches-du-Rhône.
