L'Iran affirme avoir vendu 18 milliards de dollars de pétrole en cinq mois de guerre
Iran's oil ministry said on Saturday it had sold $18 billion worth of oil in five months of war with the United States, which began in late February with Israeli-American strikes on Tehran.
Iran sold $11.5 billion (€10 billion) worth of oil between February 28, when the war began, and April 8, when a ceasefire was reached, the ministry said in a statement.
Between April 8 and July 7, when hostilities resumed, $6.5 billion (€5.7 billion) worth of oil was sold, the same source added.
"This represents more than 60% of the oil revenues projected in the year's budget, in the midst of a crisis," he specified.
In early July, Washington resumed its strikes on Iran, which is retaliating by bombing its Gulf neighbors allied with the United States, despite the signing of a memorandum of understanding in June.
Tehran is also once again closing the strategic Strait of Hormuz, crucial for global hydrocarbon traffic.
In response, the United States imposed a blockade on Iranian ports.
During the previous US blockade, from April to June, the Iranian chief negotiator and Speaker of Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, had nevertheless claimed that Iran had not been able to export "a single barrel of oil".
