Iran launched a major retaliatory strike in the Middle East on Wednesday and vowed to "break" the American enemy after a night of deadly strikes on its soil, which marred a wedding - a "war crime" according to Tehran.

The bombings resulted in a total of 19 deaths, including seven members of the armed forces but also civilians, one of the highest death tolls in several months.

"Last night we destroyed much more than their radar. The attack was very violent, and we are ready to launch another one at any time," Donald Trump warned on Wednesday.

In retaliation, Iranian armed forces claimed responsibility for widespread strikes against US allies in the region – Jordan, Kuwait, Bahrain, Iraq, and also the United Arab Emirates.

As a result, hydrocarbon prices have jumped again, with Brent crude rising above the $90 mark.

The hostilities of February resumed on Sunday, ending a month of calm, in a scenario that has been repeating itself since the beginning of the war and still without a diplomatic solution.

"US forces have struck targets of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps," Tehran's ideological armed power, including anti-aircraft defense sites, radar systems and maritime installations, the US Central Command (Centcom) announced.

Iranian state media reported at least 11 deaths: four at a wedding in the southeastern district of Sirik, where nearly 70 people were injured, and seven in the western region of Khuzestan.

The Revolutionary Guards also announced four deaths in their ranks, as well as four in the Basij paramilitary branch.

The speaker of the Iranian Parliament and chief negotiator, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, who was called "Satan" in the United States after the wedding attack, also recalled the bombing of a school in Minab that killed 155 people, including 120 children, in the early hours of the war.

The US military has not reacted to the strike that hit the wedding, but has stated that it "never targets civilians, unlike the Guardians".

- "New strategy" -

Videos showing the damage on the ground have been widely shared in Iran.

"Another pair of military boots in this military base!", a man mocks one of them as he picks up a white glittery sandal.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghai condemned the attack as a "war crime," lamenting that a "wedding ceremony was savagely bombed as part of the United States' desperate struggle to cover up its failure."

Determined to retaliate, Iran warned the United States that it should now expect a "new strategy" aimed at "breaking the foundations" of the enemy, without detailing its outlines.

He also planned a new warning to "any country cooperating with the aggressive US military".

In Bahrain, Ghizlan Saad recounts being woken up by sirens, as were her two children, "bringing back memories of the attacks and the fear".

"I hope the situation will be resolved quickly, especially since we have just started the new school year," she told AFP.

In Jordan, the army announced that it had destroyed ten Iranian missiles, in addition to three others that had crashed away from populated areas, without causing any injuries.

Kuwait reported a fire in a residential complex in the capital after a drone attack, while in Iraq explosions were heard in Erbil, where the Revolutionary Guards said they attacked US bases.

- "Detroit Trump" -

In the Strait of Hormuz, which the US president suggested renaming "Trump Strait", two oil tankers caught fire after hitting mines, according to Tehran.

Strategic for the transport of hydrocarbons, this route has been blocked by Iran since the beginning of the war.

The United States has in turn imposed a blockade on Iranian ports and, recently, a new round of secondary sanctions against Tehran's trading partners.

These latest measures will allow us to exert "economic pressure" on the country, insisted Chris Wright, the US Secretary of Energy, on Wednesday during a trip to Venezuela.
