Terrain de foot et inspiration George V : la spectaculaire villa madrilène des Zidane, conçue par l’architecte de Ronaldo
As Zinedine Zidane prepares to take the reins of Les Bleus, he is recharging his batteries in Madrid, in a discreet but spectacular villa.
The news delighted all football fans who had dreamed of this moment for years. Zinedine Zidane has just been appointed manager of the French national team, succeeding his former teammate Didier Deschamps, who had held the position for fourteen years. The football legend will take up his new duties this September. Before this busy and stressful start to the season, Zizou still has the month of August to recharge his batteries. Between his trips back and forth to France and his traditional stay at the Palace Merano in the Italian Alps, the former midfielder will be in Madrid, his adopted city. It is there that he ended his football career, after a historic €75 million transfer to Real Madrid in 2001 (and before becoming their manager in 2016). He truly settled there in 2003, with his wife and children, by building a sumptuous villa in the sought-after Conde de Orgaz district, northeast of the capital.
"The architect of the stars"
The residence, built in 2003, was designed by Joaquín Torres, "the architect to the stars," according to the Spanish luxury real estate agency Drumelia, who reportedly drew inspiration from the George V hotel (Paris 8th arrondissement) for its interior design. This same architect is also said to have designed the villas of Madonna, Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem, singer Alejandro Sanz, former Prime Minister Felipe González, and Cristiano Ronaldo. CR7's property in La Finca, near Madrid, which spans over 4,500 square meters, was indeed designed by the Spanish architect in 2009.
Estimated at over six million euros, the Zidane family's home (approximately 1,000 square meters) is distinguished by its "vast bay windows" and "curvilinear architecture blending classic Parisian style with contemporary touches," according to the Spanish media outlet Noticias Trabajo. The villa includes a "huge" swimming pool, a gym, a private football pitch, and extensive outdoor spaces: a garden designed by Joan Porcar, the landscape architect for the PortAventura theme park, and several terraces, enough to accommodate the entire Zidane clan. The family—Véronique and their four sons, Enzo, Luca, Théo, and Elyaz—as well as their three granddaughters, visit regularly.
To date, Zinedine Zidane's Madrid villa is valued at between 6 and 7 million euros, an amount that would place it among the most spectacular properties in the area.
