Boy Djiné porte plainte contre…

According to Les Échos, Baye Modou Fall, alias "Boy Djiné", detained at the Camp pénal de Liberté 6 prison, has filed a complaint with the public prosecutor at the High Court of Dakar against three prison administration agents, whom he accuses of physical violence and ill-treatment.

According to the newspaper Les Échos, the tensions stemmed from a minor incident involving flooding caused by a water outage and a tap left running. In response, the officers reportedly removed the tap and sealed off the water pipe, instructing the inmate to obtain water from outside if needed. This situation allegedly prompted Boy Djiné to protest the respect of his rights, which then escalated into an altercation with the officers.

The inmate claims to have been violently brutalized. He also denounces restrictions on his communications with the outside world.

In his complaint, he specifically addresses the impact of these events on his health. He cites a severe deterioration in his hearing, resulting from damage to his eardrum. According to the medical information he provides, his hearing loss has increased from 38% to between 85% and 95%. He also suffers from persistent tinnitus and reports having a tumor in his ear that he describes as potentially cancerous.

Boy Djiné, quoted by the newspaper, also deplores a delayed medical treatment, which he claims aggravated his after-effects, as well as the prison administration's refusal to provide him with the hearing aid recommended by doctors.

Faced with this situation, the same source adds, his family is appealing to the General Inspectorate of the Administration of Justice (IGAJ) and denouncing alleged violence against a disabled prisoner.
