Cité Fayçal : Camouflet pour la SOGEPA, la Cour suprême annule définitivement les expulsions
The Supreme Court issued a decision on Thursday, July 9, 2026, in favour of the residents of the Fayçal housing complex, definitively cancelling the lease terminations that had been issued by the State Building Management and Operation Company (SOGEPA) on behalf of the State of Senegal, according to Seneweb.
This long-awaited ruling brings to an end a protracted and intense legal battle between the residents of the Fayçal housing complex and the state authorities. It strengthens and secures the legal position of the residents concerned, including many former high-ranking officials who contested the legality of the eviction proceedings initiated against them.
SOGEPA had previously demanded the outright termination of the contracts and the eviction of the occupants. For the residents of the Fayçal housing complex, represented by the legal team of Seydou Diagne and Saer Lo Thiam, this ruling by the country's highest administrative court constitutes a major victory.
Residents believe that this sovereign decision fully restores their rights and provides a definitive answer to several years of uncertainty and anxiety related to the preservation of their homes.
