Dix-sept ans après le divorce, la rancœur tenace : Un père jugé pour avoir menacé de mort son ex-femme et son fils
Seventeen years after his divorce, he still hasn't turned the page. Prosecuted before the High Court (TGI) of Mbour for violence, death threats and illegal possession of a firearm, Amadou Diallo is accused of inflicting a real ordeal on his ex-wife, K. Dia, as well as on his own son, M. Diallo.
According to the evidence presented at the hearing, the incident occurred at the home of his former partner. Amadou Diallo reportedly went there unannounced and ordered his son to buy him cigarettes. But when the young man suggested he ask the younger men in the compound instead, the father flew into a rage and violently attacked him. The scene then escalated into a torrent of insults and death threats directed simultaneously at his ex-wife and his eldest son.
When questioned by the presiding judge about his mental state, the defendant claimed to be unaware of any particular disorder. However, his lawyer submitted a medical certificate to the court attesting to his mental health. It was also revealed in court that his former stepfather had expressly forbidden him from returning to the family home due to the repeated disturbances and altercations he caused each time he visited.
Separated since 2009, Amadou Diallo and K. Dia reportedly maintain an extremely toxic relationship. Testifying in court, the eldest son described the climate of terror created by his father during his unannounced visits.
Faced with these family problems, the presiding judge firmly reprimanded the defendant, urging him to show maturity and adopt impeccable behavior towards his children. The verdict in this case has been set for November 10, 2026.
