Magal Mbarou Darou Khoudoss: Khadim Bâ at the heart of prayers and calls for his release

The Magal Mbarou Darou Khoudoss this Sunday was marked by strong religious fervor, but also by an absence that weighed heavily on everyone's minds: that of businessman Khadim Bâ. Although imprisoned, his name was at the center of numerous prayers, invocations, and speeches throughout this important event for the Mouride community.

In the days leading up to the Magal, a large Quranic recital was organized in Touba, in one of the iconic squares for major religious gatherings. The faithful offered prayers for the release of Khadim Bâ, hoping to see him soon freed.

This Sunday, July 5th, these appeals were renewed. Religious leaders, Quranic teachers, and the faithful, in turn, offered prayers for his release, health, and well-being, making his case one of the topics that marked this edition of the Magal.

Despite his imprisonment, Khadim Ba continues, according to his family and supporters, to contribute to religious and social activities. During the Magal Mbarou Darou Khoudoss, he provided support to several Daaras (Koranic schools), Quranic teachers, and religious leaders involved in organizing the event. For many beneficiaries, these actions demonstrate Khadim Ba's continued commitment to the Mouride community.

According to tradition, the Magal Mbarou Darou Khoudoss commemorates the day of the meeting between Sheikh Ahmadou Bamba, founder of Mouridism, and the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). It was on this day and in this place that the best of creation entrusted the religious leader with the mission of preserving and spreading Islam.

Taking advantage of this religious platform, several voices were raised to draw the authorities' attention to Khadim Bâ's situation. A particular appeal was made to the Minister of Finance and Budget, Cheikh Diba, urging him to consider, according to the speakers, the social and human dimensions of the case.
