Signature falsifiée d'Ousmane Sonko : pourquoi Khardiata Tandian reste en prison
The Dakar criminal court has once again postponed its verdict in the case of Khardiata Tandian, who is being prosecuted for forging the signature of former Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko. This second postponement aims to allow the appearance of her alleged accomplice, Chérif Zeyni Abidin Sy, who was absent from the trial, according to L'Observateur, which attended the hearing.
On this occasion, the same source continued, the defense requested provisional release, arguing that the accused had been detained for over a year, that the investigation was complete, and that she presented all the necessary guarantees. The prosecutor opposed this, believing that her release could constitute a disturbance of public order and that she did not offer sufficient guarantees of appearing in court.
The court followed the prosecution's recommendations and rejected the request for provisional release. Khardiata Tandian therefore remains in custody pending the verdict scheduled for July 23, the newspaper of the Future Media Group adds.
