Thiès : une sexagénaire agressée au marché, une mère et sa fille envoyées en prison
A case of violence between a mother and her daughter and a woman over 70 years old was called today before the Thiès court.
Trader A. Lô and her daughter Y. Lô are being prosecuted for intentional assault and battery on the victim, Amy, a woman in her sixties who also works at the central market.
According to the plaintiff, the defendants occupy a stall next to hers at the market. She claims she initially allowed them to set up nearby, but maintains that tensions quickly arose over the management of the commercial space. She states that the two women have been making her life difficult for some time, even resorting to repeated acts of violence.
On the day of the incident, Amy claims she was violently attacked by the two defendants, who allegedly hit her with an iron object, causing her injuries.
In court, A. Lô and his daughter Y. Lô formally contested the accusations, denying any altercation with the complainant.
The victim, for his part, maintained his statements and claimed 200,000 FCFA in damages.
The public prosecutor has requested the application of the law. The verdict is expected on April 20, 2026.
