Voyage en Espagne avorté : En détention, le chanteur religieux Ass Dione poursuivi dans une nouvelle affaire
Religious singer El Hadj Dione, better known as "Ass Dione," currently detained for sodomy, is once again facing legal trouble. The head of the BY US travel agency is now being prosecuted for breach of trust after receiving a 500,000 CFA franc deposit for a trip to Spain that never materialized.
Ass Dione appeared in court in Pikine-Guédiawaye this Friday. However, his trial was postponed until the 22nd of this month.
According to the information gathered, the investigation was carried out by the Keur Massar research brigade following a request transmitted from the Pikine-Guédiawaye prosecutor's office on June 5, 2026.
The case dates back to February 2026. The plaintiff, Abou Diack, a jeweler residing in Boune, had contacted Ass Dione through his travel agency, BY US, located at the corner of Rue 19 and Rue 24 in the Medina district. An agreement was then reached for a work contract in Spain, for the total sum of 3,500,000 CFA francs.
To initiate the process, the plaintiff paid an initial deposit of 500,000 CFA francs against a receipt. Ass Dione undertook to provide the employment contract within four months or, failing that, to fully reimburse the deposit.
Four months later, seeing no progress in the case, Abou Diack went to the agency to demand answers. He found the doors locked. Continuing his investigation, he discovered that the owner of the travel agency had been arrested and remanded in custody in connection with other cases. The jeweler finally filed a complaint with the Pikine-Guédiawaye High Court.
Seized by the prosecutor's transmittal no. 3405 dated June 5, 2026, the BR of Keur Massar opened a preliminary investigation and requested an extraction order from the investigating judge of the 1st chamber of the TGI of Pikine-Guédiawaye.
Taken from his cell and placed in police custody on June 14, 2026, in Keur Massar, Ass Dione, who waived the right to legal representation during his interrogations, admitted to receiving the 500,000 CFA francs. He explained the interruption of the proceedings by his sudden arrest and stated his willingness to reimburse the victim if he were released.
Brought before the prosecutor's office of the Pikine-Guédiawaye High Court on June 17, 2026, he was placed under a detention order in this new case.
