Décès de Cheikh Hamidou Kane : Amadou Ba salue la mémoire d’une « grande voix » du Sénégal
The death of Cheikh Hamidou Kane has sparked deep emotion in Senegal. Amadou Ba, president of the New Responsibility/Jamm-ji party, paid tribute to the writer, whom he described as "a great voice in the intellectual life" of the country.
“Senegal has lost a great voice in its intellectual life with the passing of Cheikh Hamidou Kane. His work, and particularly L’Aventure ambiguë, has crossed generations and carried far beyond our borders a profound reflection on identity, transmission and the meeting of cultures,” he testifies.
The former Prime Minister under Macky Sall also highlighted Cheikh Hamidou Kane's career as a former minister and "great servant of the state." He stated that the deceased left his mark on Senegal as much through the richness of his thought as through his commitment to serving the nation.
Amadou Ba finally offered his condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased, as well as to the cultural community and all those inspired by his work. He prayed to Allah to grant him forgiveness and welcome him into His eternal paradise.
