Attaques contre Macky Sall : Le collectif RAPPEL met en garde Juan Branco et « siffle la fin de la récréation »
According to the RAPPEL collective, French lawyer Juan Branco is attempting to reinvent himself in the media by targeting former president Macky Sall. In a statement sent to Seneweb, the collective denounces Branco's repeated media appearances against the former president of Senegal. It accuses Branco of trying to exploit Sall as a "media platform." The collective asserts that "this repeated agitation reflects a clear desire to revive his media image by making the former Senegalese head of state a constant target."
Thus, "the RAPPEL collective is putting an end to the fun and games, warning Juan Branco and making it clear to him that President Macky Sall cannot be his media business, much less the pretext for a personal communication strategy."
A path that calls for restraint
"The group reminds Juan Branco of what should have been his sole concern: his legal proceedings and controversies in his country, particularly regarding accusations of a sexual nature, the scope of which must be assessed in light of the procedural acts and decisions of the competent courts. Added to this is his professional history marked by a suspension whose circumstances and scope are established on the basis of verifiable documents."
RAPPEL goes further and states that "Juan Branco has neither the profile, nor the merit, nor any authority allowing him to speak about matters concerning President Macky Sall."
The tone becomes even harsher when the group mentions Juan Branco's clandestine departure from Senegal aboard a pirogue. "He won't escape it a second time," they warn.
“The RAPPEL collective recalls Juan Branco’s legal and media initiatives surrounding President Macky Sall, first at the International Criminal Court, which were unsuccessful. He now seems to want to turn to the Court of Cassation. We acknowledge this direction. Juan Branco must understand that no amount of legal proceedings, no spectacular declaration, and no media campaign will be enough to establish someone’s guilt outside of legal channels. Macky Sall is not a business,” the former head of state’s followers continued.
The RAPPEL collective also announced that it will closely monitor the networks and influence surrounding the initiatives of the French lawyer. It reserves the right to pursue all legal avenues to defend the honor and reputation of Macky Sall.
Finally, regarding the former president's international ambitions, particularly at the United Nations, the group maintains that no media campaign or political pressure can decide his future.
"Juan Branco has been warned: the fun and games are over. Let him take note," said the RAPPEL collective.
