Des jeunes « humiliés » au profit de « vieux visages » : La vive réaction de l’ex-PCA du FDCUIC, Mor Talla Guèye dit Nit Doff
President Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye made several new appointments during a cabinet meeting last Thursday. Many directors general and board chairmen belonging to the party led by Ousmane Sonko were dismissed. Mor Talla Guèye, known by his stage name Nit Doff, was among them. The former chairman of the board of the Urban Culture and Creative Industries Development Fund (FDCUIC) reacted to the situation on Facebook.
According to him, this wave of sanctions constitutes a strategic error for the political and academic future of young people. "The best way to motivate young people to pursue their studies and, for those who wish to, to engage in politics in a healthy way, would have been to promote young people like Ngagne Demba, Jean Michel Sène and Bassirou Kébé, to support them and guide them in the success of their mission, so that they can serve as examples for an entire generation," he stated.
Before continuing, he added: "But today, by sanctioning them arbitrarily and in a humiliating manner, the President is sending a very bad message to young people. Loyalty, consistency, and respect for principles lead to your downfall: that is the lesson many young people are likely to learn from what is happening."
"But today, by sanctioning them arbitrarily and in a humiliating manner, the President is sending a very bad message to young people."
Going further, the former leader of the FDCUIC warned against the risks of demobilization or a resurgence of illegal emigration. "If tomorrow these young people become discouraged, abandon their studies, or take to the sea again to seek success elsewhere, we shouldn't be surprised. Here in Senegal, those who served as their idols and role models have been humiliated, dismissed, and replaced by old faces of the system that the people thought they had gotten rid of in February 2024," he wrote.
Despite these dismissals, Nit Doff urged supporters to remobilize in preparation for the 2029 presidential election. "Young people of this country, this betrayal is certainly hard to bear, but know that Allah has better days ahead for you. Your leader is still here, steadfast in his principles, and faithful to his convictions," he emphasized. He then issued a plea: "Roll up your sleeves once again. Elect him in 2029 and this nightmare will end. He is honest and sincere with his people. He has the makings of a leader and the necessary skills to govern Senegal."
