DPG- Abdou Mbow : « Dans ce régime, les uns sont occupés à vendre des cartes de membre, les autres à former leur parti politique »
On September 8, 2026, during the discussions following Prime Minister Ahmadou Al Aminou Lo's general policy statement before the National Assembly, MP Abdou Mbow strongly criticized the government's actions, targeting both the economic strategy and social management, as well as governance practices. "Where is your vision?" he challenged the head of government.
According to the APR representative, "a country cannot be governed with slogans and media appearances, but with a clear direction and a bold economic policy." He denounced "the disintegration of the economy," pointing to the closure of SMEs, the disillusionment of young people, and the flight of investors in the face of instability. Finally, the MP lamented a deterioration of the social climate, stating: "While the economy weakens, the social fabric is fraying. Anger is simmering, mistrust is widespread, and division has become your mode of governance."
The most serious issue, the MP laments, is that "Mr. Prime Minister, this regime has no time to spare for the Senegalese people. Some are busy selling membership cards, others building their own political parties. To achieve this, you are engaging in blatant political opportunism: you recruit, you poach , you consolidate your apparatus. But who is building Senegal in the meantime?"
Parliamentarian Abdou Mbow, a member of the Benno Bokk Yaakaar (BBY) coalition, stated that Senegal should not be a testing ground for political experiments. "Senegal is home to mothers who can no longer feed their children. It is home to young graduates reduced to selling sachets of water in the streets of Guédiawaye. It is home to business owners forced into bankruptcy," he reminded everyone.
He called on the Prime Minister to dedicate himself to governing the country, otherwise, he argued, he should step aside. "Govern Senegal or make way for those who have the time and the will to do so," he concluded, maintaining that Pastef and the Kiiraay coalition would be held accountable for this outcome.
