DPG du Premier ministre Al Aminou Lô : L’Assemblée nationale quadrillée, le grand oral attendu sous peu
On Tuesday, September 8th, downtown Dakar was under heavy surveillance. Around Soweto Square in Dakar, the area was cordoned off. The National Assembly building was surrounded by security barriers. Metal barriers were deployed throughout the city, where law enforcement officers, positioned at every strategic intersection, controlled access.
Furthermore, traffic is disrupted around the National Assembly. From the early hours of the morning, vehicles have been diverted from the Main Hospital, where law enforcement officers are directing traffic to ease congestion in the immediate vicinity of the parliamentary institution. Motorists and other users are being directed to alternative routes, notably towards the Lamine Guèye High School, while the plenary session containing Prime Minister Ahmadou Al Aminou Lô's General Policy Statement is taking place.
Furthermore, the head of government will outline the executive's roadmap. Therefore, the major address will focus on several key priorities, namely purchasing power and the high cost of living, economic recovery and debt management, youth employment and training, health, energy and infrastructure, governance and accountability.
