The organization Horizon Sans Frontières (HSF) has published a statement calling for calm in the case between Ivorian influencer JP N'Da and Senegalese plaintiff Salimata.

“HSF, true to its mission of promoting peace, dialogue and harmony between peoples, is closely following the situation of the young Ivorian influencer JP N'Da, currently detained in Senegal. Without prejudging the facts or interfering in the work of justice, HSF calls for calm and for this matter to be resolved,” reads the statement signed by their president Boubacar Sèye, this Saturday, September 19.

The organization is addressing the complainant directly, inviting her to consider withdrawing her complaint. "We invite the complainant, if she deems it possible and in compliance with her rights, to consider withdrawing her complaint, in order to promote a peaceful outcome and allow, in accordance with legal procedures, the release of JP N'Da," it says.

It also calls on the Ivorian influencer to take the path of reconciliation. "HSF also calls on JP N'Da to prioritize dialogue, apologies and reconciliation, in order to definitively turn the page on this affair," it adds.

Finally, he called on the relevant authorities, families, and loved ones to support any mediation and appeasement efforts that could lead to a peaceful resolution. "Our appeal is simple: prioritize forgiveness over resentment, dialogue over confrontation, and reconciliation over escalation," Boubacar Sèye asserted.

Ivorian influencer JP N'Da was detained in Senegal in early September 2026 following an altercation during a stay at the Lompoul Hotel, where influencer Salimata.mbn accused him and another content creator of assaulting and humiliating her. The case took a new turn when Salimata announced she had withdrawn her complaint against JP N'Da, unconditionally and without seeking compensation, after being approached by several people who came to apologize on her behalf.

Des agressions et des plaintes de ce genre entre citoyens lambda au pays, il en tombe tous les jours des paquets. Est-ce qu’on l'a déjà vu ramener sa fraise pour demander l'apaisement ? Jamais, et c'est bien normal. Ce n'est pas son rôle dans ce genre de faits divers insipides et sans interet. Mais là, puisque ca touche deux starlettes en carton, monsieur s'improvise médiateur de pacotille et accourt pour gratter son quart d'heure de buzz.

Les ivoiriens sont irrespectueux, si elle retire cette plainte ils vont nous manquer de respect davantage. Laisse la justice aller jusqu'au bout ils vont comprendre que le Senegal est différent de leur pays
