Beach Wrestling : Les lutteurs sénégalais peaufinent leur préparation à Besançon avant les JOJ Dakar-2026
With the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games just weeks away, the Senegalese national beach wrestling team is in Besançon, France, for an intensive 15-day training camp. This gathering is designed to allow the young wrestlers to strengthen their physical, technical, and tactical preparation before the major event in Dakar, scheduled from October 31 to November 13, 2026.
The Senegalese delegation is led by the national technical director, Khalifa Sow, who will be accompanied by the national Beach Wrestling coach, Ablaye Thiam.
Several young athletes are taking part in this training camp, including Ablaye Diouf, Elizabeth Diatta, Elizabeth Ebedo Diatta, Mery Manga, Khady Anna Diatta and Maguette Diop.
The FSL also indicates that Babacar Mbaye and Maguette Diop (2nd) are expected to join the group in Besançon at the beginning of next week.
Beyond the physical work, this training camp represents an opportunity for the technical staff to refine the technical and tactical aspects, and to allow the athletes to continue their rise in strength before the Dakar Youth Olympic Games.
The establishment of this training camp is based on collaboration between the Senegalese Wrestling Federation, the Senegalese National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSS) and the French Wrestling Federation.
Through this partnership, the FSL intends to offer Senegalese athletes the best possible conditions to approach the final phase of their preparation.
