Escroquerie présumée à Thiès : Un ingénieur interpellé
In a case of alleged fraud and forgery of public documents, the Criminal Investigation Division (DIC) arrested MBN, an urban engineering consultant residing in Keur Massar. The events date back to 2025-2026. Two complainants, S. Mbaye and SB Diouf, allegedly gave 21,799,997 CFA francs and 35,839,830 CFA francs respectively to the accused. The money was reportedly paid in connection with a project presented as a road rehabilitation contract in Thiès.
To convince his interlocutors, MBN reportedly claimed to be awaiting a payment of 99.9 million CFA francs from the Treasury, which was intended to cover the service and reimburse the sums advanced. A document bearing the seal of the Directorate General of Public Accounting and the Treasury (DGCPT) was also allegedly presented to support this version of events.
However, the DIC's checks concluded that the document was forgery. MBN also reportedly submitted a document without a stamp or signature to justify the awarding of the contract. The investigation is ongoing to shed light on this matter.
