Fin des délestages : la Senelec tient parole !
Relief among households and businesses. After several days marked by distressing nighttime and morning power outages, the situation appears to be gradually returning to normal. Since yesterday, no major load shedding has been recorded in several areas of Dakar and the surrounding regions.
This positive development confirms the promise made by the Director General of Senelec, Papa Toby Gaye, during his recent interview on RTS. Mr. Gaye pledged to resolve the energy deficit and stabilize the grid before the end of the week, allowing time to acquire the necessary equipment to repair the damaged installations.
As a reminder, the crisis of the last few days occurred in a context of high temperatures and wintering, following a technical failure on the Karpowership power ship and the shutdown of a turbine at the Cap des Biches power plant (West African Energy), coupled with difficulties in supplying diesel fuel.
This effective resumption of service delights users who are returning to a more peaceful daily life.
