Gossas : 3FPT clôture les 72 heures de l’emploi, de la formation professionnelle et technique
The 72-hour event dedicated to employment, vocational training, and technical education, organized by the 3FPT (Vocational and Technical Training Financing Fund) in Gossas, concluded this Monday. The closing ceremony provided an opportunity to review the activities carried out over the three days and to highlight initiatives promoting training, employment, and the professional integration of young people and women.
During these three days, several actions were carried out in the department. In total, 167 job seekers were profiled, while 61 companies were contacted , including 14 already enrolled under the National State-Employer Convention.
In terms of training, 800 women in the department received training in cereal processing techniques and soap making. Meanwhile, the DER/FJ, a partner of the 3FPT, funded 22 Economic Interest Groups (EIGs).
Speaking at the event, the Director of Employment, Cheikh Ahmadou Abdul Gueye, stated that " 107 community service workers (ASCs) across the department were involved in the 3FPT's 'One ASC, One Job' program ." He also announced the establishment of a local mission tasked with monitoring the activities carried out during these 72 hours.
According to him, several achievements have been recorded as a result of this initiative. "We have a portfolio of job seekers in Gossas. The support for women has been strengthened within the framework of the 'Investing in Skills' initiative. As such, 800 women are expected to receive support and funding from the DER/FJ."
Speaking at the event, the Minister of Employment and Vocational and Technical Training, Idrissa Samb, recalled that this approach is part of the vision supported by the Head of State, Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye.
"The vision put forward by the Head of State invites us to change scale and methods, to accentuate the territorialization of public policies by associating elected officials and community actors in their design, implementation and monitoring," he said.
"This orientation is part of the National Transformation Agenda Senegal 2050, which makes vocational training both an effective employment policy and a lever for balanced development of territories, three structuring dimensions of national transformation," he added.
It was with this in mind that the 72-hour event was organized in Gossas, notably with the opening of a local employment center. According to the minister, this center will be tasked with determining the profiles of job seekers, identifying the skills needed in the area, and compiling a list of available training programs and companies that are hiring.
For the organizers, these 72 hours allowed the young people and women of Gossas to better understand the role of 3FPT and the various opportunities it can offer them in terms of training, employment and professional integration.
