Grand-Yoff : les policiers surveillent un suspect et découvrent un trafic bien rodé
A drug trafficking operation involving medications and psychotropic substances has been uncovered at the Grand-Yoff market. According to Libération, police began investigating G. Ndiaye after receiving information about his activities. Already implicated in several legal proceedings for similar offenses, the suspect used various schemes to evade detection.
Investigators then monitored his activities on September 16, from noon to 6 p.m. This surveillance revealed transactions occurring around his sales point. The stakeout allowed them to catch him in the act of selling pharmaceutical and psychotropic products, some of which require a prescription and strict storage conditions. To conceal his merchandise, he had placed his stock in a storage unit adjacent to his stall. Several customers, some arriving by motorcycle, were seen during these transactions.
The operation, launched around 7 p.m., led to his arrest in the act. A body search revealed two blister packs of twenty Tapentadol tablets each. A subsequent search of his premises yielded eleven more blister packs of the same substance, totaling 110 tablets, as well as various medications, including Cipromed 500, Centrum Ca-C 1000, amoxicillin, and ibuprofen. Police also discovered 606,000 FCFA in cash, which was placed under seal for the purposes of the proceedings, the same source added.
