Incident technique sur Tivaouane : Senelec évoque la section accidentelle du câble du départ principal
The availability of electricity was disrupted on Monday in Tivaouane. In a statement, Senelec explained that the disruption was due to the accidental severing of the main power cable at the Grand Mosque, caused by a third-party company during construction work.
This has "caused a technical incident on the electrical network" which directly impacts the distribution of electricity in the heart of the religious city, including the Zawiyas, the maraboutic residences and several sensitive sites, she said.
In its press release, Senelec deplores the lack of prior notification of these works and the failure to immediately report the damage. However, it assures the public that its technical teams are fully mobilized to rectify the situation as quickly as possible.
Furthermore, Senelec is requesting the immediate cessation of all excavation work in the area until the end of Gamou. This is to guarantee the safety of workers, the feasibility of the operations, and the stability of the network during this busy period.
