Insécurité à Bounkiling : Les voleurs de bétail opèrent de jour comme de nuit
In Bounkiling, insecurity linked to cattle rustling is causing increasing concern among the population. On Friday night, individuals were caught in the Néma neighborhood slaughtering a goat belonging to Lamine Yaffa, a carpenter and cabinetmaker.
During their escape, one of the suspects lost his mobile phone, which was recovered by the victim and handed over to the Bounkiling gendarmerie brigade. A complaint against persons unknown has also been filed with the security forces.
During the same night, other goats belonging to Amadou Badiane, also a resident of the Néma district, were found tied up in bushes.
According to several residents, thefts of goats and sheep have been increasing for several years, both day and night.
Faced with this situation, residents are calling for increased surveillance in neighborhoods, particularly in outlying areas. They are also requesting the installation of streetlights to reduce shadows and facilitate nighttime surveillance.
