Kaolack : Un présumé dealer arrêté avec plus de 3 kg de chanvre indien à Kasnac
The investigation unit of the Ndorong district police station dismantled a suspected cannabis trafficking network in Kaolack. The operation, carried out on November 2, 2026, at approximately 7:00 PM, led to the arrest of an individual identified as A. Dia, alias "Diona," in the Kasnac neighborhood.
According to information gathered, his arrest followed a tip-off about drug trafficking he was allegedly involved in along the Garage Dakar-Ocass market route. During his arrest, police discovered 15 packets of marijuana, wrapped in white paper, in his possession.
When questioned about the origin of the drugs, the accused reportedly stated that he obtained them from a supplier based in Sokone, at a price of 50,000 FCFA per kilogram, with the aim of reselling the merchandise.
He also reportedly revealed that the rest of the stash was stored in his bedroom, located near where he was arrested. A search of his home led investigators to discover five more blocks of loose cannabis, weighing a total of 3 kg and 50 grams.
The police also seized 66,000 FCFA, believed to be proceeds from drug sales, two pairs of scissors, an "Oking" brand mobile phone, and a large quantity of kraft paper used for packaging cones.
The drugs, money, and various items were placed under seal. The public prosecutor's office was informed of the facts, and an investigation was opened to determine the potential ramifications of this trafficking operation and to identify the suspected supplier.
