Kaolack: A 15-year-old girl gives birth by cesarean section; a secret arrangement revealed



A case of alleged rape of a 15-year-old girl has resurfaced following her cesarean delivery. Nine months after the incident, which occurred in Kaolack, the teenager's father finally contacted the police, exasperated by the failure of an amicable settlement and the cessation of financial support promised by the accused, reports Libération.

The daily newspaper reports that the local police station, contacted on September 23, registered the father's complaint for rape, pedophilia, and abduction of a minor. He explained that a compromise had been reached with Ibrahima T. (27 years old), who had admitted to fathering the child and promised financial support. However, faced with the father's failure to honor this commitment and his daughter's hospitalization at the El Hadji Ibrahima Niass Regional Hospital, the parents ultimately decided to take legal action. Doctors had recommended a cesarean section due to the "immaturity of the mother's pelvis."

The same source adds that, when questioned by investigators, the accused admitted to having had sexual relations with the minor, while also claiming they were in a romantic relationship. Interviewed in her hospital bed, C. Diallo confirmed the relationship and stated that after their encounters, her boyfriend would ask her to "take an emergency contraceptive pill."

The medical expert report submitted to the proceedings indicates a 39-week pregnancy. The intervention ultimately resulted in the birth of a male newborn.
