Keur Massar : Un mécanicien arrêté pour extorsion de fonds sur son ex-amante mariée
A love affair between a married shopkeeper and a mechanic took a dark turn. Accused of blackmail involving a sex tape and extortion, the man was arrested by the Keur Massar investigation unit. He was brought before the prosecutor in Pikine-Guédiawaye.
The events date back to January 2026. Ms. MD Diop, a shopkeeper residing in Almadies 2 and mother of four, went to a car garage in Keur Massar to have her vehicle repaired. It was there that she met the mechanic, Mr. Sèye. Experiencing marital problems, she began a romantic relationship with him.
But she ended the relationship a few months later. Mr. Sèye did not accept this decision. To force her to continue, the mechanic began to exert pressure. Having secretly recorded their phone conversations and saved their WhatsApp exchanges, he threatened to release this intimate content to the victim's family and friends, as well as on social media.
According to the complainant, the man was blackmailing her, demanding 10,000,000 CFA francs. She refused to give in to the blackmail and blocked her ex-husband's number. He tried every possible way to contact her by phone in the middle of the night, while she was with her husband. Worse still, Mr. Sèye directly targeted her daughter, contacting her to denigrate her.
No longer able to bear this harassment, she filed a complaint on September 15, 2026, at the BR of Keur Massar.
The man speaks of revenge
Arrested on September 16, Mr. Sèye admitted during questioning to having kept the recordings and sent threatening voice messages. However, he offers a different version of events. He claims he was drawn into the relationship, invoking a mystical ritual performed by a marabout (traditional healer) in Diamniadio.
According to him, his relationship with the complainant led to his divorce from both his wives. He maintains that he acted out of revenge, in a fit of anger, after the victim suggested he spend time with a friend of hers before changing her mind. He denies, however, having intended to publish the recordings online or having tried to extort money from her. He claimed that his contact with the victim's daughter was for the purpose of buying clothes for the talibés (students of Islamic schools) in Touba.
At the conclusion of the investigation, Mr. Sèye was brought before the prosecutor's office in Pikine-Guédiawaye. Placed in pretrial detention, he will appear before the court for flagrant offenses.
