The Malika district police station has been seized with a case of discovery of lifeless bodies, in circumstances which leave room for doubt about a possible electrocution.

On September 24, at approximately noon, police were informed of the discovery of a body in a building under construction in Malika Plage, opposite the sub-prefecture. Upon arrival, investigators found the body of a man lying face down. The body, in a state of decomposition, showed signs of swelling and burns. Blood was found on the ground near the victim's head, along with electrical wires lying across his legs. No signs of violence were observed on the body.

The deceased has been identified as A. TRAVALE, aged 37, a street vendor residing in Yeumbeul Sud.

Information gathered from his friend, S. TRAORE, allowed investigators to reconstruct the events. According to his testimony, A. TRAVALE had visited him at his business on Sunday, September 20th. Since then, S. TRAORE had been unable to reach him by phone.

On September 24th, around noon, worried by the silence, he went to the building where his friend lived alone. Finding the front door locked with a chain and padlock, he broke the lock to gain entry. It was then that he discovered the lifeless body lying on the floor. In shock, he immediately went to the police station to inform the authorities.

At this stage, the exact cause of death has not been definitively established. However, the chaotic state of the electrical installations found inside the building suggests a possible electrocution.

The death certificate was issued by the forensic pathologist at Dalal Jamm Hospital, with the assistance of the forensic science police. On the instructions of the public prosecutor, Saliou Dicko, the deceased was buried in the cemetery of Yeumbeul, his place of residence.

An investigation has been launched to determine the exact circumstances of the death.
